I would rather eat under-salted food for the rest of my life. I prefer not to feel thirsty by salt and drink lots of water. Fluid makes me feel bloated. Salt tends to raise the blood pressure of some people so it is best to eat this condiment with moderation.
I like the taste of natural food and in order to savor the original taste, I prefer not to add too much salt or eat it without salt.
Helen offered this question as a prompt for writing. Attached to this question are two other questions related to food flavoring.
Would you rather eat over-salted or under-salted food for the rest of your life? Sickeningly-sweet or nothing sweet ever again? A notch too spicy or no spicy food ever again?
These questions are from Helen’s list of prompts for March 2025. The rest of my answers are below.
I also dislike eating overly sweet foods. Sugar and sweetness are bad for my teeth. I can feel a sticky layer coating over my teeth after drinking or eating sugary consumables. I think I can do with nothing sweet ever again.
I have never been a fan of spicy food and I won’t miss spicy food if I can never get it again. Spicy food makes me thirsty. It usually makes me suffer a stomach upset.
On a normal weekday when I have fixed errands to run, I can’t allow myself to eat over-salty food or spicy food. I won’t feel well enough to function properly, not to mention, I would need to visit the toilet frequently.
If I have to give up condiments for the rest of my life, I would do so, in order to avoid being saddled with the option of not having the choice to regulate the amount of condiments in my food.
I enjoyed writing for this prompt and I thank Helen for the opportunity to reflect on the questions for journaling.
