Bar graph shows number of authors who don’t read book reviews of their own books versus those who read reviews of their own books

If you’ve ever wondered how many authors would be bothered to read reviews of their own books, here is a rough idea, based on data I collected for a small group of 14 authors.

If my statistics is anything to go by, it implies roughly 79% of authors don’t read book reviews of their own books.

Authors who read book reviews of their own books compose 21%.

If a book reviewer is sycophantic and expects to make good into the author’s “book of graces” they will be disappointed 79% of the time.
