This post takes up the writing challenge of prompt #1 – diets.
Have you tried any challenge that asks you to eat 40 vegetables and fruit in a week’s worth of 21 meals? I tried Jackie Lynch’s The 40 Fruit and Veg Challenge. I shopped for my stash of greens and fruit for my 1st week but failed to complete the list of 40. I was too fussy in my choice of purchases. I didn’t buy what I didn’t like to eat. Consequentially, I failed to manage 40 fruit and vegetables. I steeled my resolve to attempt this challenge for another week. This time, I forced myself to step out of my comfort zone and buy those greens and fruit which I was biased against. I managed to eat 39 fruits and greens. That deserves a pass because 39 is almost 40.
For readers who are interested, they may like to read my post on how I managed my week of 40 fruits and vegetable challenge. The disclaimer is you should consult your doctor to get a professional opinion of whether you are fit to try this diet. Generally, people need to have a clean bill of health before they start a new kind of diet.
From John Holton, this week’s prompts:
- Write a post based on the word diets.
- Write a post in exactly 11 lines (sentences).
- Write about something you’re looking forward to in April.
- Besides your life, your health, your house, and your car, what else do you insure (or, if you don’t, what would you like to insure)? Why?
- Take two books. Open each one to a random page and point at a random sentence. Use one sentence to start your story and the other to end your story. Write the story in the middle.
- Write about the most recent time you went to a sporting event.

That sounds like an interesting diet but I’m sure I’ll fail as well.
