Photos & Thanks Oct 15 2026

This is my Thanks for TToT (Ten Things of Thankfulness):

(1) I visited a particular store after more than 3 months.

(2) Thankful I cleared my work early to go out.

(3) It was a fruitful trip. Sometimes, a trip was futile.

(4) Grateful to find other prompts to write and draw.

(5) One day, I forgot to bring my house key after going out. I was worried I might get locked out if there was nobody at home. I frantically texted messages to alert my other family member and thankfully, that person was at home. I have included 2 other different door keys in my handbag to avoid being totally devoid of keys in case one key is forgotten. The cost of a house visit from a locksmith, to pick open a locked door, is expensive at a 3 digit number. And that is provided he has time to make a house visit immediately. Otherwise, I would have to wait outside for hours. I’m grateful for having learned this lesson, as I have now put in my safeguards.

(6) Thank you for bloggers who sacrifice precious time to visit, type a remark, or type a lengthly helpful comment.

(7) I managed to get roomy sandals to replace my old, torn ones.

(8) Thank you for this book pick!

  1. I’m so glad that the other family member was home when you forgot the door key. Great idea about the safeguards. I enjoyed reading your list of thankful 👍☺️

  2. Pooh, did the locked out thing myself. NOT fun.
That Jasmine is lovely! I would have to find out if I can grow it here, and if it’s deer resistant, so I know WHERE to plant it!

That looks like it could be a neat read, will have to see what I can find on it.

  3. Hi Cat!
I looked up Google to ask about Jasmine and deer. Generally deer hate plants that give off odors and the Jasmine do have fragrance that repels deer, but, some deer have hunger that over-rides their repulsion to smell.

It is a rare occurrence to find someone in our present circle interested in reading the same title.

    Thank you for your support.

  4. #5 -Yes, despite being warned about it, when we went to Holland and stayed on a houseboat earlier this year, I managed to lock us out, and it took an hour+ for a locksmith to come, and then it took him less than 5 minutes to open the door, much in the manner of breaking into a car with a special strip of metal. 150 euros…
Barbara was in her dressing gown so we had to take shelter across the road with a school choir who were rehearsing for a musical – their teachers helped us contact the locksmith and made us a cup of tea – we got some curious looks from the kids…
    Easily done, Cai, easily done!

  5. funny thing, how universal this fear is (which is, of course, totally reasonable) as the idea of having an entire house being right there in front of you and you can’t use it!

cool, your listing The Wizard’s Butler hope people enjoy it as much as ai did.

    have a good week ahead

  6. Beautiful photos and am also grateful for physical safety, considering all the things I found out today from people who woke up to the sirens in Poland and whatever is going on in France, while on their trip.
