I’m sitting inside the dining room, which has large windows to the narrow garden. External to the garden’s boundary wall, is the street where this residence is located.

This window allows me to hear the maximum amount of sounds. From early morning, around 5 am, the birds which nest in the large trees, start to chirp. They are waking up their friends. Some young birds are chirping to call for their parents. They want to be fed. The birds call incessantly for a very long time. Maybe their parents have abandoned them as they are big enough to fend for themselves. Some young birds come into my garden too. They hop around, here and there, searching for food, among the potted plants. There. are a few birds who have made nests in a cluster of bamboo trees. they rustle the stems and leaves of the bamboo trees whenever they are moving inside the clump of branches.

The sun rise is usually at 6:45 am. This is when the sky becomes bright. The street lamps are still on, until 7 am. Then the lamps are turned off by programed instruction.

The hum of traffic starts to become louder and noisier. People are driving vehicles to work. The roads are crowded and the sound of traffic is loud.

I am reminded of my broken foot. I have to stay home and indoors, to allow my foot to heal. I can wear my Apollo Walker boot to help my foot while I walk. However, I may still feel some pain in my foot as the boot is very heavy and it presses down on my injured foot.

I hear the newspaper vendor delivering newspapers to my newspaper’s assigned cylindrical container box. I’m glad I can enjoy the convenience of newspaper being delivered right at my door step. Previously, I had to dress up, walk out to my nearest supermarket, to buy the daily, local newspaper.

My neighbors who threw the junk which led me to climb out, to break my foot, have exited their main house door, with a loud clang. They are out in their driveway, preparing to enter their car, to drive to work.

I’m leaving my window seat, to walk into my kitchen, to prepare food.

The end.
