Marta’s writing prompt – Challenges during Covid-19 pandemic.

Hey, Marta,

CHALLENGES ACCEPTED!

Here is how I would participate in Marta’s list of challenges. I’ll try to write my attempts for each challenge down below, or type into a new post to describe my attempts.

  1. To be positive during this bleak period of Covid-19 pandemic.

This particular strain of Coronavirus is contagious. Its more infectious than AIDS. We can see patients with symptoms of AIDS, and understand they have AIDS. This is not the case for patients with Covid-19, an invisible disease that attacks humans who breathe.

I am overwhelmed with the avalanche of information on Covid-19 and its development in my area, as well as in countries all over the world.

As this pandemic rages, life carries on. Some people are suffering depression because of changes to their life style caused by Covid-19. Other people are heartbroken over failed romances.

What can I do to stay positive? I’m joining writing prompts and art prompts. The ones that receive visitor traffic or feedback from readers, are the best prompts to participate in.

What can I do to help others to be positive? I intend to offer encouragement.

2. Use your time to do the things you’ve always wanted to but didn’t have time.

I want to read books, write my blog, and doodle! I face challenges because when there are family at home, there’s more cooking and housework to be done. I’ll try to do a little of these during my free time.

3. Learn something new.

First, I have to think of what I want to learn, then squeeze in a time slot for this.

4. Create one new habit.

I have to start exercising indoors every day.

5. Get to know yourself better.

Yes. I’m trying to discover how I can unblock and get any creative juice flowing into my writing and art. I’ve been trying to write more short stories. I’m boring and unimaginative so I’ve been floundering.

6. Stay home happily.

So far, so good. I hardly have time for myself at home so its a pleasure to stay home to glean any time available for myself.

7. Maintain social distancing to break the chains of community transmission.

Yes and I’m developing myself to carry out my ideas for the future.

This is all for now. Thank you Marta, for this writing prompt and character development challenge.

July 5 2020 Update

Regarding point (1):

I wasn’t positive enough to maintain a regular journal on drawing daily.

Regarding (2):

I received 6 free fiction e-books but I don’t have time to read them. I also have several fiction in my pile of To Be Read list.

I read A Promise Renewed by Sabrina Oyinloye. My book review is at the link.

Book 2 that I read – Down The Lane by Paul Lafferty.

(3) I learned how to hand make my own journal using recycled paper and cardboard. I need at least 365 pages for 2021. And then some more for 2022, 2023 …

(4) No, I didn’t start exercising indoors. Not at all.

(5) Ok.

(6) Ok.

(7) Ok. Meh.
