Meditation on TToT (Ten Things of Thankfulness)

  1. I was so lost when I didn’t know how to turn off the bathroom’s water supply. One valve was dripping. Then the right plumber came along; recommended by the sanitation supplies shop. Plumber told me the universal (?) color of tap for switching off bathroom water supply is RED. If there is another tap that is grey color, that supplies water to the water heater tank. WOW. Thankful for this knowledge to stop leaking water.
  2. Leaky sanitation hardware were replaced. There are still more valves to be rectified.
  3. Thanks for a change to Sunday schedule for Mass. The Sunday morning crowd dress up. I guess they have commitments for the rest of the day.
  4. I managed to clear a significant portion of our front deck. Partially polished the floor with commercial liquid fixer. Guess I’m thankful it looks like it can be improved. There are bare patches which need more months to fix.
  5. Unfixed brackets of bookshelves now fixed. After a roundabout search for the correct handyman, it was eventually done.

  1. (6) Replacement for my old whose battery drains every hour.
  2. (7) Thanks for new flowers on plants.
  3. (8) For a cat in the neighborhood who visits. As I was preparing to focus with my camera, the cat caught sight of me behind the translucent curtain and it turned tail. This is the only pic I managed to snap. It looks ethereal.

  1. (9)Thanks to bloggers who share their rich experiences.
  2. (10) Thanks for readers.

  1. It’s great when you have helpers, isn’t it? Our power was messed up and the maintenance man came and did the same thing I did, but he did it more aggresively. Now, I will know.

  2. I hadn’t realised there were so many Jasmines, we have Winter Jasmine and Star Jasmine (which has quite large flowers) and you have Night Scented and I’m sure the jasmine in Crete is different again…

  3. for around the house repairs, there are two areas I resist the temptation to undertake: plumbing and electrical. not only are both of a certain high level consequence (for getting wrong) but all too often require tools that no one but a plumber or an electrician would have… ex: to replace a faucet in the kitchen the plumber used a normal crescent wrench, except his had a 90 degree angle at the end (to reach up under the counter top.
    love the cat photo
(also liked the implied italics of the last sentence in Grat 3 (lol))

    have an enjoyably productive week!

  4. Plumbing problems are sure buggy! Glad you were able to get it fixed.
The photo of the cat almost looks like a painting. Very cool.

  5. I’m so glad the plumbing problem is solved and others are being solved. It’s a big worry when it’s happening.

    Your list made me smile.

  6. Plumbing issues are such a bother. I have an outside tap that’s dripping, and needs fixing. Might be lucky and it’s just a washer required but I think the tap needs replacing unfortunately.
