  1. In cold, wet weather, a flower thrives.

4. We found a pumpkin, lost in the overgrown patch of plants. Nobody knows how long it has been sitting there. We cut it open to harvest its seeds.

5. Pineberries from a supermarket. They taste like a cross between a strawberry and pineapple.

    Grat 6. Dry weather that allows going out.

    (Don’t get me wrong, it’s not that I don’t like staying in (‘specially in cold winter weather) but the option of going out is very empowering.)

  2. Going straight to #5, Cai. Pineberries sound delicious! And dry weather makes going out way more enjoyable. What a pleasant discovery that lay hidden for so long – gem of a find.

  3. #7 – I don’t know of this work until now, but Wikipedia says “The novel has been credited for helping define modern American fiction” and as a teenager in the ’70s, perhaps I should read this too…
