There are reasons why this dream was created by the brain. The killer serving out his sentence was a reminder of the young man’s murder, every day of the sentence. It was like the victim was being killed over and over again.
The murdered victim may have been targeted before the final blow. The person could not respond appropriately to handle bullying and may have been partly responsible for events leading to death. This person may have been liable for his final fate, and thus, may be deserving for a punishment. Dreaming of the killed man serving out the sentence is one way of the unconscious mind sending the message that the victim may not be proactive and was responsible for the events leading to his death.
