I’m not paying $1000/ ticket to watch Fifa World Cup June 2026

A large plastic transparent balloon sphere has embedded charcoal spikes; it floast around when you push it and its spikes draw markings against the walls and ceiling in this hall. This balloon is called ADA.

I’m thankful for not being that wildly enthusiastic, as to pay USD$1000 per ticket, to watch Fifa World Cup this June 2026. Not to forget, there are hidden costs in air tickets, accommodations, food and transport to get around. I sympathize with football fans who are addicted, to pay that much to feed their obsession.

Here is a TToT inspired by Fifa World Cup 2026.

  1. Thanks for the practical suggestion to watch Fifa World Cup on TV.
  2. Thank you for the warnings that tickets will be grossly expensive, no matter when you want to buy them.
  3. Gratitude for the warnings that air ticket, hotel accommodations and food will be costly during the Fifa season.
  4. Thankfulness for thrifty people who are gossiping against purchasing tickets.
  5. Begrudging thanks to Fifa who has explained away their defence for the price of tickets.
  6. Thank you to the Canadian government in certain provinces, who have banned the resale of tickets above their original cost.
  7. I acknowledge Fifa’s thanks to football fans for contributing to their coffers.
  8. Illegal immigrants may be thanking the media for propaganda on the risks of attending live Fifa events, for obvious reasons.
  9. On the opposite spectrum, legal residents are pleased to be privileged to watch football sans worries of displacement.
  10. We join the US in their multiplied celebrations of their 250th anniversary of Independence AND hosting some of the World Cup matches.

This was part of last week’s item of thanks.

Before, when window handle was broken by a local Godzilla:

Window handle wrenched off.
Broken window handle.

After, when handle was removed and a new handle screwed into old holes in the metal frame.

After replacement; new black window handle

  1. I’m with you, going is out of the question. It’s wonderful to hear you are getting good sleep and the new window handle looks very sturdy.

  2. I’m with Mimi: excellent Grat on the window handle repair. That, until it becomes the new normal, every time you look at the new handle you can enjoy it.

Now this next, Readers can blame Reelika (lol) I remember the first concert I attended. It was Jimi Hendrix. I saved up my allowance to pay the $3.50 (USD) for a ticket. (The concert was held in an indoor hockey rink. They put plywood over the ice and wooden folding chairs on that.

    Have a good week

  3. Inflation is a double edged sword. It works against us in some ways, while improved valuation of incoming flows benefit us. Thank you for reading and supporting the varied forms of TToT. I’m sure you’ll have a pleasant week, as per your norm.
