Memory Test:
Is your memory good? Do you remember these two photos well? Do you think they are of the same plant and flowers?
Your thoughts and feelings put bias on your memories. If those thoughts and feelings about an incident were good, then your memory of that event is a good one. If your thoughts and feelings about a past episode were bad, then you’ll remember that episode as a bad one. The facts of the past event are not represented accurately as your personal opinion has clouded the actual facts.
If you meditate regularly, your views of the world around you, are good, kind and compassionate. Consequently, your memories will adopt similar views of positiveness, kindness and compassion.
If you think something happened, then your memory will contain your opinion that something did happen. It is a false memory, because it was formed because of your personal opinion, and not because it did happen.
Meditation uses different parts of your brain. This is a boost as it increases the blood flow to those parts of the brain. Due to your “hardware” being helped, your memory improves.
Meditation trains you to focus on a small, select area. There are a few hundred types of meditation. When you focus, distractions are dropped. your memory retains a small area to remember.
If you do movement meditation, the exercise will improve blood circulation all over your body. Good blood circulation nourishes your brain and thus, your memory.
