Dream interpretation empty movie theater

One night, I dreamed that I was sitting in a movie theater/ cinema, to watch a movie. It was strange sitting in the movie theater, as it was empty. Why did I dream of an empty movie theater? What is the dream interpretation of being in an empty movie theater? Clearly, something was wrong. Maybe someone had arranged for my movie screening to be a private one and no one else was allowed to buy tickets in the same theater sitting with me.

In reality, the movie theater is dying a slow demise in many locations where ticket sales are low. This dream can be interpreted as a premonition that almost no one attends screenings in a theater. Indeed, whenever I sit in a theater, I can count the number of patrons inside easily, because they are few and sparse in the seats.

There are old retired people who are free to watch screenings in the day. Then there are adult students who have the freedom to arrange their schedules to watch movies. A few dating couples are present. Sometimes a formal film critic attends. You can tell by the person holding a notepad and flipping through many sheets of papers.

So dreaming of the empty movie theater can be an amplification of what I saw during the screenings … declining numbers of audience attending movies.
