What are the origins of the Sarplaninac dog?
The Sarplaninac was once called the Illyrian Shepherd dog. Its original homeland was Macedonia, in the Sarplaninac mountains.
Its size is huge, being taller than 58 cm. It weighs 30 – 45 kg. It can live up to 11 to 13 years.
The Sarplaninac is so large that it is not suitable to be kept indoors as a pet. It is usually used as a working dog for outdoors.
