Employees don’t work on major public holidays. They want a break too. Sometimes, there are staff who work on public holidays because they want to earn overtime pay. But the distributors of goods and suppliers of fresh produce, may not be working during the holidays. So when the stocks are sold out, the shelves remain empty, until the distributors and suppliers begin working again.
