The indie author, nicknamed Ole Man, was a very old man who hid behind a fake persona of a zealous Romeo. He was a Casanova. His ulterior motive was to sell his books. He pretended to love women, in order that they become motivated to buy his books.
A female blogger, nicknamed Bernie for Bernadette, was unaware of his age and mode of operating. She read and commented on Ole Man’s blog and books. The latter’s jealous fans attacked her. Some fans, who were unaware of Ole Man’s ruse, emailed him and invented lies about Bernie. They said Bernie stalked them, and started bitch fights with them. Ole Man fell for that. He emailed Bernie to fight with her. “What did you say to Jeanette? How dare you alienate my fans!”
Bernie was unsuspecting. “I beg your pardon? What’s happening? I’m working my a** off blogging, reading, reviewing and coping with my life.” She felt scared for her blog on that particular platform. She poured her energies into it and now it looked like she could be hounded off that platform.
Ole Man woke up. He apologized for his outburst. He became scared to mention anymore of it since his game would be exposed to Bernie. He paced ahead and made some distance between himself and Bernie.
None of the jealous fans emailed Bernie. The game was played with the Ole Man, not Bernie.
