This is Helen’s question prompt for April 9 2025.
There are many symbols of wealth that don’t appeal to me and they are: huge mansions, luxury cars, luxury watch, branded clothes, showy items of wealth. I see that these are brandings of wealth and they attract trouble from people who desire to hang on the coat tails of the rich for benefits. They like befriending friends for benefits, for everything. I have no trappings of wealth and virtually nobody clings to me.
A home is essential, but for some people who don’t like their home or shared home, they try to get do-gooders to allow them to crash on their living room couch. They see home owners or renters as a luxury class category, to be milked for their generosity. The couch is the only place they’ll be, only during sleeping hours. Throughout the better part of the day, they’ll hang out everywhere in your home. Every time someone asks about your home, it usually means they have an eye to staying with you.
I learn to cope with my own circumstances and not interfere or disturb other people’s lives. If they volunteer assistance with many terms, that’s well and good. If they ask for some conditions, I have to consider if I can fulfil them. I’ll decline if I think I can’t reciprocate.
I like this prompt as it is a common question that happens in life. Thank you Helen, for writing this prompt.
