It is not any day that we walk to the neighborhoodcoffee house to buy takeout lunch. We did as we were on our way to run an errand that has been pending for several weeks. Today is the day we send two pairs of jeans to the tailor for repair. They’re still in good condition, except worn out at the thighs, where the denim threads were fatigued from being rubbed together when legs were walking.
The seamstress was in attendance at the shop, where she explained her charges were $12 to repair each threadbare spot. She justified the cost by kindly saying she was of her understanding that it was very demanding to spend a lot of time stitching around the holes. We coughed up $24 for the two pairs of jeans.
