How Proverbs Chapter 7 relates to us in modern times

I read and choose a line as my favorite from Proverbs Chapter 7. It is line 4 – 5:

“Say to wisdom, “you are my sister,”

and call insight your intimate friend,

that they may keep you from the loose woman, from the adultress with her smooth words.”

In contemporary times, there are many scammers who seduce workers who desire to earn easy and plentiful money. A temptress may not be a woman. It may be a man, or promises of giving you whatever you desire.

Initially, the tempted may feel pangs of guilt or stabs of remorse, having to cheat innocent people, while they are themselves enslaved to their master who controls their freedom and way of life. Present day morality and walking the high ground is not possible when one is trapped and compelled by force to obey, on the threat of assault or even death.

Don’t listen to sweet words for they are usually false.
