When we first see somebody familiar, we greet them and exchange pleasantries. Besides asking them how they are and have been, we might also ask if they have eaten the meal that reflects the time of the day. If the people are at home, we ask if they have done their housework, to ensure they are free to have time to chat.

Washing dishes, cutlery and utensils is often thought of as a boring chore. However, there are ways to add zing to the chore. Look at the soap detergent as you apply it over the dirty cups and other crockery. Observe your satisfaction as you see how the dirtiness is scrubbed off. Soap is slippery and this sensation reminds you of your baths. Do you use warm water for washing up? I like warm water during cold days. I am cheered by the heat. I would reward myself with a cup of hot beverage after some housework. Look at the results of your work. Everyone feels pleased at looking at the fruit of their labor. “See how good I am at washing up!” Here are so many thoughts to fill our time at the sink. We tend not to feel bored with mundane chores when we appreciate our work. Your positive thoughts and feelings will lift your mood.
