I choose to write on mythology.
When I was very young, I had to read books with Greek mythology in school. It was confusing as there was no explanation those were merely fiction. I attended a Catholic school and those books with Greek myths presented conflicting ideas on God and religion. A few years later, those books were phased out of circulation and I was relieved. As I began to read newspapers and other books, I learned about Greek mythology. I resolved never to voluntarily read that genre again.
