Where is your favorite place to be? Is it outdoors somewhere? Let’s go to a cool place like a shallow stream. Look in your mind’s eye. Do you see the flowing water? Is the water clear or muddy? Can there be any fish living in the stream? If the current is very slow, it may be possible to see fish, and other aquatic life swimming. Can you hear the sound of the flowing water? Or the sound of any aquatic animals swimming in the water? Is it safe to step into the shallow water of the stream? If yes, imagine removing your footwear to prepare to step into the water. How does it feel? Does it feel cool? Do you feel the slimy bottom of the shallow stream? Do you feel weeds? Do you feel any fish swimming across your feet? Can you smell the water? Are you enjoying your foot bath? Can you feel your skin enjoying the water? Is it time to step out of the stream? Imagine yourself getting out of the stream. Slowly, come back to where you are in this present moment. You are safe. Your meditation in the shallow stream is over.
