Rojie has a July prompt on work spouse. I had forgotten about this story until I realized it has a bearing on work spouses and I can use the prompt. I drew these pics in around 2020 and since then, my drawing style has changed. This story is about people who work in the estate I used to live in, back in 2020.

Hansom & Rhonda spent large amounts of time together, like a couple at work.

They work in the same estate but in different departments.

She nurtured her relationship with her work husband at the expense of her job & customers

The boss and her subordinate lunch together.
Every day, the boss and her subordinate buy lunch packet food and eat in the privacy of her office.

Rhonda traps Hanson in bars of mental stress, guilt, physical boundaries of work, materialism, carnal pleasure and economic status.

Hansom has a new electric skate board at work.

It isn’t enough.

Hansom has a shiny new scooter to use at work.

Dreaming of scooter, scooter dream.

Hansom thinks he is getting a lousy deal with Rhonda. She is divorced with kids. She takes leave every school vacation to spend time with her kids. He doesn’t relish being a step-daddy.

Too late, he regrets painting himself into a corner with Rhonda.

He hopes to find a replacement to Rhonda. He sets his eyes. on another woman, Penelope.

Old Man Jim gossips to Rhonda . He does gaslighting on Penelope. He slanders her as having her heart out to seduce & trap men.

Jim, another man in Hansom’s department, tries to win Rhonda’s heart by showing off how he can take care of her by reminding her to wear conservative dressing style. Jim is no match for Rhonda; he fails in comparison to Hansom.

Rhonda sweet talks Hanson about dating and needing his help elsewhere.
Rhonda has eyes only for Hanson.

Jim fails to win over Rhonda’s heart She only has eyes for Hansom.

Old Man Jim said Rhonda should be wearing her proper attire.

Jim is frustrated and tries take revenge on Rhonda by talking bad about her. He talks to Hansom to bad-mouth Rhonda. Old man Jim complained to Hansom, saying that Rhonda should dress according to her religion and culture.


He thinks Rhonda will receive feedback and realize that he is a force to be reckoned with.

Rhonda’s brain is confused. It is full of Hanson, Jim, Penelope and how she must navigate to avoid being linked to bad women.

Hanson escorts Rhonda to the bus stop.
Hanson unofficially clocks out at 5:30 instead of 8 pm because he is special to Rhonda.

He wants to go off at the same time as Rhonda. She, being a manager, is officially off-duty from 5:30 pm on weekdays.

It is everybody’s guess:

After all, Rhonda did show up at work one morning, in a floaty house dress, or night dress.

*

The story ends badly.

The higher powers gets wind of these shenanigans. Rhonda played her cards badly. She nurtured her relationship with her work husband, at the expense of her job and customers.

Rhonda and Hansom disappear from the estate and are replaced by new staff.
