Scary Story #23 Zombie Worker: for Rojie’s prompt

There are articles and information online on how to make zombies. The narrator isn’t repeating the basic information here again. Look it up. One example link is https://www.nbcnews.com/sciencemain/heres-killer-recipe-how-make-real-zombie-8c11470626

This story is about a zombie servant. He isn’t a slave because he is a paid servant worker. He became a zombie when he ate food from an unscrupulous employer. He was unsuspecting and physically had no choice but to eat the food placed before him, as he lives in the same house as his boss. He listens to his boss and obeys every instruction, including orders to destroy.

Initially, he was too poor to buy his own groceries to cook for his food. Then, he became addicted to greed and sloth. He ate his boss’ food to save his money on spending for food. Then, he also became lazy to bother with buying uncooked or cooked food for himself. He does not realize he has been drugged with a magic spell and some ingredients to dull his brain and prevent him from thinking intelligent thoughts.

He was a mule who did his mistress’ bidding. He was used as a tool to tell lies, abuse, torment and instigate discord. Sometimes he tried to explain to his boss why the trickery would not work and it was pointless to execute the plan. His boss was as stubborn as a mule and insisted he followed orders down to the letter. His soul was in turmoil because his tongue lied and turned against his mind. Then one night, his soul popped out to talk to relay its anguish, and its story was told here.

When we were children, we were told never to accept candy and edibles from strangers or people who could take advantage of us. Kids could get drugged.

Now that we’re adults, the same warning stands.
