The tall guy was trying to poach the shorter guy. He went on and on about the promising horizons of his company. Its a startup and risky for the short and older man. The sales pitch failed as the short guy reminded him they had to leave the cafe to attend a meeting. Older men are more experienced and skeptical about empty promises.
