What is mindful meditation? Being Mindful Improves Your Life but what does it mean to be mindful? In the context of meditation, it means to pay attention to your present moment. Being mindful is a type of meditation.
Many of us try to multitask. We eat and read a book/ newspaper/ computer/ smartphone simultaneously. We can’t pay full attention to our food, or reading material. We are not mindful.
How do you get to the state of mindfulness? We start by concentrating on our breathing. We learn to regulate our pace of breathing by controlling our breathing in and out. You block out other stimulants around you as you refuse to be distracted.
When you try to blank your mind, the usual “monkey chatter” runs on and a train of thoughts pass through your consciousness. We do not wonder and linger in those thoughts. Let them flow and flow away. We experience calm as the thoughts leave. You’ll be able to use this technique repeatedly once you learn the ropes. You’re not caught in the web of tangled thoughts. Hereafter, you learn to be clear, calm, and work through your tasks, issues and concerns effectively. As you’ve become efficient, you won’t be anxious with your tasks, work, and duties. Your positivity will influence your personal philosophy and improve your life.
