Meditation on Gaslighting, Day 21
I decided to amend the title of this series of posts, since it is largely on gaslighting.
My next door neighbor is gaslighting me. The matriarch has accused me of casting the evil eye on her son. He’s in his 30s, and no young lamb. He should be capable of taking care of himself. The old woman insists on gaslighting me, to use me as a decoy, to fend off another neighbor, who is the real cougar. She is trying to court the old woman’s son. Needless to say, he has consistently rejected the cougar.
Why the roundabout manner of strategy? The old woman is afraid of the real cougar, and she can’t reject her advances outrightly, as she and her household have several secrets. There is at least one case file listed in public records.
The plot screams extortion. For this series of nightly disturbances, there is nothing concrete, no real evidence, no offences and nothing to report.
The old woman and her hired help disturb my sleep nightly, in the name of exerting pressure on me, to use the stick method, to intervene to disrupt the courtship.
I can’t do anything. I would be attacked by the cougar, and old woman.
Last night, I was awakened at 11:50 and 3 am.
