Meditation before Christmas on 2nd Sunday of Advent Dec 7 2025

The topic to meditate upon is this – where do I experience paradox? Where do I see opposite realities?

I see paradox in a family member who is supposed to help me, but he can’t. He is supposed to be in a supportive role but he isn’t. Its because he has an illness and is incapable of extending much help. Even before he became sick, he had seldom helped me, or never assisted me. It could be due to his genes, and upbringing.

How can I pray to ask God for help?

I pray to find acceptance of this situation. Only then I can stop blaming the person for not behaving in the way I desire, as my expectations are unrealistic in the face of incapacity. I have this burden to carry and I have to bear this responsibility.

How can I respond to God this Advent? How can I approach God with love?

I understand when I love difficult people, I am loving God, for God is in people.
