I’ve been meditating on my Ten Things of Thankfulness (TToT) for this week of Oct 27 – 30.
I’ll write about my thanksgivings for the animal welfare group who did a road show to encourage adoption of felines. If it was not for them, I would not have seen these cute cats and kittens. In fact, everybody who crowded around the display, was thankful the cats came to visit us at the mall.
Cats and kittens were in mobile tent pet carriers. The screen nets allowed viewing. Interested people could request for the handlers to unzip the tent to pet the cat.
This adult cat was large.

The young cat, like the adult cat, appeared shy. Although the area was cordoned off to put distance between the cats and the crowd, still, the cats saw and felt many humans around and acted shy.

Another ginger/ orange young cat was popular with a child. His parents were not with him or else he could have persuaded them to adopt ginger. Ginger was apprehensive and refused to leave the safety of its confines, to be carried by the boy.
I couldn’t get a shot of the tent with the kittens because many people crowded around the screen. Kittens didn’t know how to be shy. Instead they were clamoring for attention.
List of thanks #1 and #2 –
- Seeing cats and kittens.
- Being able to snap some photos of the felines.
More thanksgiving: Thanks for #3 and #4
I’m glad the blogger of https://How-would-you-know.com talked about the upcoming annual A-Z Challenge in April 2026. I commented that I did participate in 2025. Some curious readers searched for my post on A-Z Challenge. Thank you, readers! Thank you, Humanist55.
Thanksgiving #5 –
I’ve loosely decided on drawing for A – Z Challenge 2026. I’m also trying to write on a theme. I don’t know which one will stick. If any reader wants to join A- Z blog challenge, please drop a comment here.
Thanks for #6 –
The weather is mild and that’s good.
Thanks #7 –
I found an interesting book about a character experiencing Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. Only that the writing disguised the symptoms, because it isn’t good to use mental disorders as plot drivers.
Thanks #8 –

This dove has made a nest in a clump of bushy young trees. It volunteered to be our guest, to add entertainment to our garden.
Thanks #9 –
The public road works department has repaired 3 broken slabs on the sidewalk’s pavement. Before, nobody could push their bike wheels, trolley wheels, skate scooter wheels, mobility devices across those broken slabs safely. Now, its a breeze.
Thanks #10 –

Were any of the cats adopted? Was that the purpose of bring them to the shopping mall?
I hope you week is all that hope for.
The purpose of holding a road show for the animal welfare group was to encourage adoption of the cats. I didn’t stay at the venue long enough to see if paper work was done for any adoption. Interested people can go to visit the animal shelter again, to see more cats and maybe bond with one, and adopt it.
I wish you a nice, peaceful week ahead.
Excellent TToT!
Always enjoy when you (and the other Hostinae) write a list that incorporates a ‘story’ and a view of a distant local and…and all the while reaching-out/recognizing the community that we, all of us, enjoy and totally benefit from.
muy coolito
It’s not always easy for the groups to do a mobile adoption event, but when they do it usually generates a lot of interest. I hope people remember them next time they want a cat or kitten.
I do the A to Z, once I learned about it, I figured I might as well since I blog every day anyway, it’s more of a challenge to try to match up a post title to the letter of the day.
Thank you for sharing this info.
Thanks for the shoutout over A to Z, I meant to comment on your experience of it last week but got distracted by your soundproofing issues. In terms of comments, my experience has also been variable and slightly disappointing at times, but I would say that over the years I have done the challenge, I have found certain people who I visit and are visited by repeatedly so 1) it’s about quality not quantity and 2) I realise I do the challenge (and much of my blogging in general) for myself as much as anything – nothing else would justify the ammount of effort I put into it. You could create an A to Z side panel to take people there so your posts there are always accessible…
Great idea on listing a category named “A to Z”. Before, I didn’t think I would continue from year to year, and so didn’t list it as a permanent category. Thanks.
