Joseph had dreams about his brothers’ lives being endangered. This drawing was an interpretation of their perils. They had to literally hang on for dear life. Joseph threw them a life line, and didn’t take revenge on them. The rope is that life line for them to climb out of danger. Thank you for your interest.
