Once, I thought I dreamed of a person who was shining with light. I could not see the face, but felt he was male. He stood against a background of shining light which was so bright that I was almost blinded by the sheer amount of light.
When I woke up, I discovered it was daybreak and my bedroom was flooded by sunlight. Light shone through my closed eye lids and probably stimulated my dream about light. External stimuli can trigger a dream that includes it.
