I do – I still play the claw machine because hey, its fun. For $10, you get several chances to win a cute soft toy you would otherwise never buy directly from a store. You may feel shy to carry a soft toy to the counter to purchase it. The claw machine is impersonal. It doesn’t judge you for trying to win a cuddly icon to bring home.
The down side of playing the claw machine is that you might never win to successfully grab a toy. Even if you do clench the metal claw to grip a toy, the gear may be programed to shake free the toy in the jaws of its non-deathly grasp. The machine fights to retain its prized possession within the confines of its enclosure.
In spite of all this, I still play the claw machine. I want to believe I have a chance of winning a toy.
Do you still play the claw machine?
