The doctor’s method of calibrating his mercury nanometer sphygmomanometer, versus the electronic sphygmomanometer. First, he takes a reading of the patient’s blood pressure using his manual mercury nanometer. Then he uses the electronic sphygmomanometer to take the reading of the patient’s B.P. If the two readings differ by just a few points, then the electronic sphygmomanometer is accurate.
