Revenge – Turning a new page doesn’t mean turning over a new leaf: psychological horror story #4

A man used to knock on a door, begging for admittance. The people behind the door didn’t open the door to him, because he was unknown to them. He spent around two years knocking on this door. Why did he do this? The people there were not rich. They probably couldn’t help him. Yet he never gave up, consistently visiting when he could muster enough energy to travel to that place.

After two years passed, his visits to that building slowly tapered off. Now months passed without him making a trip there. The occupants also realized this. They quietly wondered what had happened to him. One female occupant thought, “Maybe he has turned a new page and stopped his old habit.” Then again she thought, “Maybe he has found somebody new to pester. Turning a new page doesn’t mean he has turned over a new leaf.” She wondered who was the new person who had the misfortune to be the subject of that man’s attention. He had to find a new form to occupy his energy and intention. His difficult mission was probably still unfilled and he would never abandon his heart’s desire.

The Buddhists believe in reincarnation. The Hindus believe in rebirth too.

A supernatural lacks a physical body to do activities that require a human representation. It may desire a rebirth as a human, to complete its unfinished business during its previous life as a human. It may try asking a human for help. Failing that option, it may search for an opportunity to enter a human or body, to complete its mission. Turning a new page doesn’t mean he has turned over a new leaf.

A supernatural may not stop haunting a place. It may have changed its form of appearance and humans may not recognize it in its new form. Until it says or does something to reveal its true form.
