
He asked me to give some business to his good friend, who was making customised name stamps. He praised his pal’s calligraphy as being the best in the market.
“He’s the best. In fact some of my friends started to use his rubber stamps as their signatures on their bank accounts.”
I froze. I wanted to protect my bank account. I was living from hand to mouth. I quickly thought about a topic to change the conversation. I knew that if I kept quiet, that would allow him leeway to keep talking about giving business to his friend and get my signature made into a rubber stamp.
