I would rather lose 10% of my friends. Belongings cost money to buy and I’m not sure I can afford to get rid of 90%, or almost all of my possessions.
In older adulthood, I have very little time for friends. I work part time, or freelance. I do my own housework and run errands to maintain my small home. I maintain contact with my close friends on a social media messaging platform, but we seldom gather. When we receive sudden messages out of season, we’ll say, uh-oh. Its probably for an unfortunate circumstance like someone has been admitted into hospital, or someone has died.
My friend social circle is interconnected because they are somehow related to one another. If I lose 10% of my friends, the remaining will still inform me of major developments and I would probably hear outstanding news about the missing 10% of my acquaintances.

I think long term memory makes a person who they are, and what they are. I prefer to keep my long term memory. I’ll be able to remember my enemies and friends. If I encounter my foes, I’ll remember I can’t trust those and stay away from trouble. I don’t need to repeat my lessons and rediscover who my enemies are.
