On the last Saturday of April, ie April 26 2025, we post about Share 4 Somethings. What are the prompts?
The prompts in bold and my answers are below them.
We share some things we loved:
I love dried fruit. They are a healthy snack. I can only eat one small piece of any type of preserved fruit, at one sitting.
Some things we learned:
I learned I still liked to read nonfiction as well as fiction. It has been several decades since I dropped reading as a hobby.
Some things that went well:
I didn’t actively participated in writing prompts and bloghops, until very recently. I couldn’t even write creatively. Then I started with simple writing prompts. Gradually, I found I could improve little by little, with practice.
Some things we let go of:
I used to imagine I wanted to join a friend group in my neighborhood but let it go, because the other people rejected me.
I used to like sewing embroidery but gave it up because it was decorative but not useful.
I used to imagine I could knit or crochet my own simple wraparound skirt, but I lacked the experience and time. I crocheted a few inches worth of length but it was a short stitch and it would take tons of time before the length can be accomplished. On hindsight, I should have started with a stitch with more height.
I started writing indie book reviews as a way to invite some traffic into my blog. I discovered the writers are too busy to promote their own reviews. Or their blogger friends aren’t interested to read the reviews about someone else’s works. They are not concerned. There are even writers who refuse to read reviews of their own books and ignore reviews. Approximately 8 out of 10 authors do not read reviews of their published books.
We share some things we loved:
I used to like fellowship with my church friends after the service. Then, I moved into my own home. I had housework, responsibilities and other errands, so I stopped this kind of socialising. Now, the only times we gather are for funerals for those we know, or close relatives of friends.
