Are you old enough to have seen toilet paper factory workers rolling toilet paper by the spool by hand? I wasn’t old enough to see this but I vaguely remember seeing a photo of workers sitting in a back alley, manually rolling and spooling up toilet paper, before packaging the realms up in large packs for sale.

Ah, the good old days, before everything was done by machine. Sounds like a step up from using sheets torn from the old Sears catalogue, which is what my mom said they used in their family’s outhouse.
Nope that is before my time. And, somehow it does not sound very sanitary. I’m hopeful the way we do it now doesn’t involve a back alley.
