I enjoyed reading this creative poetry book – Patient History by Tricia Tan was born to record the poet’s journey of her time accompanying her mother for cancer treatment. Tricia’s thoughts, reflections and creative expressions during this difficult time are beautiful.
Poet Ms Tan mentioned the tiny figurine named Fuchiko in her poem “zuihitsu for gachapons”. This is a variety of decoration inspired by cocktails. A tiny figurine sits on the rim of drinking cups. The illustration below has the figurine drawn in magnified proportions to see the doll better.
The poem “watching benjamin button in the ward” brings up the nestled dolls.
Rating: 4 out of 5 stars.
