This is the worst of times and the best of times. This is the time of President Trump’s revision of tariffs and the subsequent negotiation by all the affected countries. The courts may succeed or fail to block the implementation of new tariff systems but Trump has had his say. He has made America Great Again. The whole world bows to the President. Sure, the docks are empty or less busy. We may not see the same level of hyper activity at the loading docks. Change has arrived and will continue to come.
This looks like a slow marathon of tangos. Trump has dances booked with more than 50 countries. Foreign goods imported into the US will cost more than before. It could look cheaper to buy domestic products. Or foreign products could be compelled to sell at lower prices as a barter to obtain lower tariffs.
At this initial stage, it is the worst of times as we grapple with uncertainty and rising costs. Trump acts by his convictions that the hoped ends would justify the means which he used to achieve them.
I thought he was supposed to bring prices down?! (Sarcasm) I wonder if the voters are feeling the burn.
