Staples means basics
If I think of staples as meaning the basic foods in my diet (meals), then I would be sad to see the groups of words informing me that there are “no more staples”. I live for staples. I need staples every day. So I work to earn money for staples. I wreck my small brain to think of how I can earn money for my primary needs. Everyone has a set of parameters and we have to find suitable work that lies within our given parameters.
Staples can be the stationery item stapler’s staples
A fun interpretation of “staples” would be the stationery item that is used to clip two or more sheets of papers together. I wouldn’t be concerned if there are no more staples for the stationery stapler. I would fold the pieces of papers together at one of the top corners, to keep them together.
