Journal of Thanks Aug 11 – 16 2025, aka entry for TToT (Ten Things of Thankfulness).

Monday – My usual supermart run because we’re out of fresh fruits. It rained, glorious, glorious rain! Precipitation was always forecast at around 25 – 30%, but liquid water made landfall.

Tuesday – I have to visit another neighborhood and get to see a different supermarket. I’m glad I have an excuse to go there once a month. If it wasn’t for consulting the herbalist, I wouldn’t have the chance to venture out that way.

Wednesday – A normal day.

Thursday – I visit another neighborhood and get to see another, different supermarket. I go there once in 6 months. I was disappointed to see it had shut down and 3 other stores were partitioned to take over its former space. I walked over to the opposite side of the road to buy a serving of chicken for my packed lunch. Changes in the environment are sometimes necessary. If the new retail shops are right for me, I’ll get the chance to use their services.

Friday – Special mass for the feast day of The Solemnity Of The Assumption Of The Blessed Virgin Mary. For non-Catholics, this is the commemoration for the day Jesus’ mother was bodily taken up into Heaven. I had been praying for around 2 decades to be able to live somewhere near a Catholic church as I had been spending around 2 hours traveling to and fro to pray in church. This time, I live a stone’s throw away from a C. church and every time I walk there, I’m reminded to be thankful for this blessing.

Saturday – The highlights of today are Weekend newspapers and sunset Mass.

Sunday – Its a S-L-O-W day.

Writing about the good stuff each day reminds you of the good things that happen. You acknowledge your blessings and admit you can be lucky once a day, or even more than once a day. You’ll feel good, positive and when you relax, you’re likely to fall into a deep rest. You’ll fall asleep faster once you hit the hay, because you don’t dwell on bad and negative events. Sleeping earlier means you’ll gain more time for sleep. Sleeping punctually leaves you waking up refreshed and relaxed.
