How to meditate using objects
To meditate using an object, like a flower, look at it carefully. Appreciate its shape, form, color, texture and smell.
Flowers don’t move. They stay still, and may sway gently with the breeze or wind. A sunflower “moves” by tilting itself towards the sunlight.
There are many definitions of flower. The flower we’re used to seeing is this type:

However, a flower can also be used as a metaphor, to describe a thing of beauty, grace, fragrant in nature, gentle, and graceful.
If you practice meditation using flowers, you’ll gradually learn to recognize the traits of a flower in other objects as well. Slowly, you’ll see the traits being identified in humans too.
The flower’s beauty in its existence, is only a form of the manifestation of beauty. If you have a good, kind friend, you’ll also recognize her/ him as beautiful in existence.
