One night, I dreamed I was sitting inside an airplane. I could see, smell, hear, touch and feel in my seat. It was so real. I didn’t know where I was flying to head to my destination. I also didn’t know the purpose of my travel, be it for work or leisure.
I could see passengers on board the airplane. They were seated and engaged in their own activities like reading, listening to music or watching TV. The smell of sitting inside a pressurized cabin was realistic. My seat was comfortable although I had very little leg room. I shifted about in my seat, trying to distribute my weight in my tiny space.
The air stewardess was serving meals. I waited patiently for her to come to my seat. When she reached my aisle, she completely ignored me! I tried to speak up, but she had turned away. I was hungry and getting angry. I called out to her. She didn’t hear me or chose to ignore me. “Excuse me”, I said. She was already on her way down the aisle. “Hey, some assistance please!”
“Hey, hey, hey,” and suddenly, I was awake.
What did I learn from this dream? I dreamed of being ignored. Its latent meaning told me I was getting the cold shoulder. Probably some incident in my waking reality triggered this dream. Maybe I was barking up the wrong tree and chasing a project I shouldn’t be eyeing on. Maybe this dream tries to tell me to quit chasing after the project that I probably am not suited to handle.
