Why do we dream of cruel memories?
We tend to remember the bad times more than the good. Once in a while,negative incidents during the day can trigger old memories of bad times. These play out in a dream, which may not be the exact replica of the real episode. The dream can be an invented one with bits and pieces of real memories, spliced and joined together, with memories of events that did not really belong to us.
