Dreams are the royal road to one's unconscious.
Dreams are the royal road to one’s unconscious.

SEVEN FACTS

ON CONSCIOUSNESS FOR STREAM OF CONSCIOUSNESS SATURDAY

  1. Do you agree with Freud? Do you think your dreams show your unconscious secret desires?

2. Consciousness is a big word, whose general definition is the state of being awake.

3. Consciousness is what we know.

Consciousness vs Unconsciousness

4. Conversely, unconsciousness is what we don’t know. Like in deep sleep, being unresponsive, in a state of coma, or being dead.

5. Your ego is at the center of your Consciousness. It influences your consciousness. It retains selected contents while represses painful content by stopping you thinking of them. Your ego protects and defends you from self-harm.

What does consciousness contain?

6. Your thoughts, desires, imaginations, memories, identity, emotions and more.

7. The loss of any one of these does not mean you lose your consciousness … if one loses memories, like after a stroke or amnesia, the person can be conscious, but without memories; as memory is only one of the many contents in consciousness.

When we fall asleep, we might hear our own first snore, before we are knocked unconscious. If there is an interfering force that desires to prevent you from falling asleep, it will snatch you from the brink of your first second falling asleep, to pull you back into your conscious state.

After a while, should you fall asleep again, the interference will again repeat its same tactic, to pull you awake.
