I live in close proximity to a patch of trees. Black bats often fly into open windows at night. Some of them spend the entire night flying around. At daybreak, they are exhausted and will park themselves in secluded spots. Sometimes, they can be found at ground level anywhere quiet. I’ve seen bats twice at the foot of apartment blocks. They lie so still that they seem dead, save for heavy breathing which makes their skin pulsate.
