Rojie’s prompt for Oct 23 2026 – What are you watching for spooky movies?
I like Alfred Hitchcock’s and Stephen King’s horror films. It has been a very long time since I last watched any of them so I’m not going to discuss them. Instead, I’ll like to survey on an old superstition.
Are you superstitious about black cats?
Personally, I think black is a difficult color to photograph. If I had a cat, I would definitely want to take loads of photos. I’m sorry to say this, but I would like a light color coat for a pet.
I have a friend who is very superstitious about black. They had stories about black being personally bad luck for them. I know Rojie might ask me to write out the stories. I better try to write them if I can.
My friend used to bring up black being bad luck every time this comes up in conversations. He said his astrologer told him that his taboo color is black. He avoids black color, unless he really has no choice of color to choose from.
He used to carry a black faux leather briefcase to work. He bought it as it was on sale. He lost his job, changed companies, got retrenched, and finally got incapacitated to work in his tough job.
He was thrifty and bought his black shoes because they were on sale.
I couldn’t persuade him to spend money properly to avoid the sales items and buying black colors.
After all those incidents happened, he became more convinced that black was bad luck for him.
