My meditation for 3rd Sunday of Lent March 8 2026

Mary, Mother of God. Mary, Mother of Jesus.
Mary, Mother of God. Mary, Mother of Jesus.

1st Reading Exodus 17: 3 7

Today, we seldom thirst for liquid water. However, we maybe parched for want of spiritual quenching, relief of emotional thirsting and satisfaction of our personal crisis/ crises.

My reflection – When I was very young, I used to search for guidance. Adults around me didn’t have time nor knowledge to help. My peers were struggling with their own lives.

2nd Reading Romans 5: 1 2, 5 8

This is about the Holy Spirit, who lives in us. We are asked to become vessels of this Holy Spirit, and pour ourselves out to assist people in need.

I’m trying to help my family members. I need time also for myself. I am broken and will try to re-integrate. I used to feel negative, and my equilibrium was a state of sadness. I managed to slowly leave that behind after many, many years.

Recently, in the past 2 years, I met very difficult people, who desire help, but spurn guidance to help themselves.

3rd Reading John 4: 5 42

I’ve met broken people who struggled through hardships. They become better people than those who never experienced challenges.
