Meditating on the color
Teal is not a common color. I don’t wear teal but I like teal. It is the color of my favorite mascot. She never fails to cheer me up when I feel down. It is not the color of her furry body that uplifts me. It is her crooked smile. It hits me and touches my heart. I bet the toy maker has a degree in character design.
When I smell something fishy and suspicious, which pulls down my mood, I only have to look at her to lift up my mood. She doesn’t own a nose, and she can’t smell any red herring. Maybe that’s why she’s so optimistic, perpetually smiling. She doesn’t have ears either, but she hears my thoughts and understands me no matter what I say.
My mascot is small, but she packs a punch. She is light, but her presence weighs heavy. I can stare at her for a long time and not get tired of her ambiguous smile. Everyone should have their own emotional support buddy.
