In dreams a jewelry box is not a jewelry box

Back in the day when people blushed when genitals were alluded, there were many synonyms to talk about taboo objects and subjects. Freud wrote a record of his psychoanalysis of his female patient Dora, when he explained to her, “You may not know that ‘jewellery box’ is a popular expression used to refer to somethingyou recently alluded to when you talked about the handbag, that is to say, the female genitals.” (Freud, p. 60)

The cashier forgot to scan out some boxes of strawberries.
